200hr YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

In 2024 our course will look a little different, with two options for study: ​

Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding and appreciation of yoga, further develop your own personal practice, or are looking to become a teacher of yoga, our comprehensive 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course is for you!

In 2024, we are shuffling things around a little to offer two options for study; 125 hours of foundational knowledge, followed by an optional 75 hrs, focusing on the Art of Teaching, qualifying you as a Yoga Teacher

The first 125hrs will look to deepen your understanding of Yoga - including studying the physical and energetic practices, taking a deep dive into anatomy, physiology and alignment which you can apply in your regular classes, and further expanding your appreciation of the history and philosophy that underpins it all

A further, optional, 75hrs, will focus on the Art of Teaching -  including purposeful sequencing, cueing, adjustments, the business of yoga, ethics and inclusivity. You'll walk away a fully qualified teacher, with plenty of practice and the confidence to begin teaching your own classes, in your own way!

In 2024, we invite you to choose your own adventure! If you are looking to deepen your understanding of the yogic practices and develop your own personal practice, join us for the first 125hrs. If you are looking to teach, continue on for the additional 75hrs, for your full Level 1 200hr certification

200 hr Graduates will be eligible to register as a Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Alliance

200hr Yoga Teacher Training Requirements

 The Stretch Yoga Academy 200hr Level 1 is a comprehensive program designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding and appreciation of yoga, and provides outstanding education and preparation for those intending to become yoga teachers

Each module comprises of a mixture of lectures, teacher led discussions, guided practice of techniques and poses, and analytical training in how to practice and/or teach the theory and techniques

Students are expected to attend each face to face module,  actively participate in class discussions and exercises, and undertake self study hours, including completion of homework, readings and assignments. Students are also required to complete 50 yoga classes at Stretch Yoga (or another YA approved studio) as part of the program

The program will culminate in a written exam covering all areas of study, as well as a practical teaching exam, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the theory and practices 

Upon completion of all modules, homework, 50 classes, a written and practical exam students will be awarded their L1 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certificate.

Students must have completed at least 1 year of a regular personal practice before being accepted into the course
