Module 8: Neutrally Rotated Standing Poses
Objectives: Student teachers to understand the positioning of the hips in a neutral position and how all neutrally rotated poses start from tadasana, utkatasana and virabhadrasana. Learn the effects of symmetrical neutral standing poses and asymmetrical neutral positions
Benefits, key actions and contraindications for each pose. Practice each pose with teacher’s cues individually, then with each other and learn how to align with directions through observation, practice and hands on experience.
Students to begin to teach each other with simple cues and begin to learn the effects of instructing with the correct cues.

• Review bones and muscles affected in each pose
• Tadasana
• Utthita hastasana
• Uttanasana
• Prasarita padottanasana
• Utkatasana
• Anjaneyasana
• Virabhadrasana 1
• Parsvottanasana
• Parivrtta trikonasana
• Parivrtta ardha chandrasana
• Virabhadrasana 3
• Garudasana
• Utthita hasta padangusthasana
• Prop usage in each pose
• Yoga class with focus on neutrally rotated standing poses
