Stretch Yoga Teacher Training Brisbane
Module 20: Advanced Biomechanics
Objectives: Develop a sense of how postures can be used as assessments, revealing how limitations in one plane of movement are overly expressed in another. Use this knowledge to explore alternative cueing and clever prop placement to limit such compensatory mechanisms in both active and passive postures.
Content:
• What is biomechanics?
• Distinguish the differences between anatomy and biomechanics
• Determine specific outcomes for selected poses
• Learn to adjust biomechanical variables to meet desired outcomes
• Identify prerequisites for common yoga poses to avoid compensation
• PNF and reciprocal inhibition
• Establish approaches to mitigate injuries in asana
