Module 11: Twists
Objectives: Student teachers will learn the importance of establishing the plump line/central axis in the torso, to lengthen and then revolve/twist
To encourage the twist to come from the centre of the body by using muscular engagement of the abdominal and spinal muscles before applying external levers (arm and legs).
Benefits, key actions and contraindications for each pose. Practice each pose with teachers cues individually, then with each other and learn how to align with directions through observation, practice and hands on experience.
Students to begin to teach each other with simple cues and begin to learn the effects of instructing with the correct cues.
