Module 12: Abdominals
Objectives: Students to understand the importance of strengthening the core and how this affects postural alignment.
Understanding each abdominal muscle placement and which poses affect which muscle and or muscle group.
Benefits, key actions and contraindications for each pose. Practice each pose with teachers cues individually, then with each other and learn how to align with directions through observation, practice and hands on experience.
Students to begin to teach each other with simple cues and begin to learn the effects of instructing with the correct cues.

• Review bones and muscles affected in each pose
• Table Top
• Ardha Chaturanga Dandasana
• Ardha Chaturanga Dandasana on forearms
• Navasana
• Urdhva Prasarita Padasana
• Jathara Parivartanasana
• Prop usage in each pose
• Yoga class with a focus on abdominals
