with Kaitlyn Sandona
Sunday 13 September
11.00am - 3.00pm
Are you pregnant and hoping to enter labour feeling calm, confident and empowered? Or perhaps you’ve given birth before and are looking for a more supported and positive experience this time around? An Active Birth workshop could be exactly what you’re looking for.
This workshop goes beyond simply exploring movement during labour. Together, we’ll look at how to become active participants in the birth experience—physically, mentally and emotionally—while feeling informed and empowered in the decisions that are made along the way.
Led by Kaitlyn, proud mama to three boys (and yes, life at home is as wild as you’d imagine), this practical, hands-on workshop is designed for both the birthing person and their support partner. Through guided discussions, movement, breathing techniques and interactive exercises, you’ll explore ways to work with the body during labour, including positioning, movement and breath awareness. Birth partners will also learn practical ways to offer support through massage, encouragement and grounding techniques.
In this intimate small-group workshop, we’ll also explore simple mind-body practices to help prepare for birth, reduce fear and tension, and support a calmer, more connected labour experience.
Investment: $200 per couple.

Kaitlyn has a background in community development, holding a Bachelor of Sociology (majoring in Development) from UQ. She has been a yoga teacher since 2016 (RYT 350hr) and has completed several postgraduate specialist trainings, including prenatal yoga with Bliss Baby, restorative yoga with Byron Yoga Centre, and prenatal, postnatal and active birth training with Mindful Birth Yoga.
Kaitlyn is a proud mum to three boys, Harry, Luca and Samson, and lives on Brisbane’s southside with her husband, Justin. She spends much of her time talking about breastfeeding - whether it's about starting it or wrapping it up.
Each month we have a variety of offerings, courses and workshops to help you deepen and develop your practice on and off the mat.
