First time on a yoga mat? We get it, starting something new can feel like a big leap! That's exactly why we created our four-week Beginners Yoga Course at Stretch. Think of it as your gentle, encouraging guide into the beautiful world of yoga, where every "I can't touch my toes" moment becomes "Look what I can do!"

Our wonderful teachers believe in the magic of taking things one breath, one pose, one "aha!" moment at a time. Whether you're a complete newcomer who thinks downward dog is just a cute pet trick, or someone ready to deepen your practice and polish those poses, this course welcomes you with open arms (and maybe some gentle stretching).

Grounded in the timeless tradition of Hatha Yoga, you'll discover not just the poses, but the story behind them – the rich history and philosophy that makes yoga so much more than just stretching. Learn to breathe like you mean it (trust us, there's more to it than you think!), explore gentle meditation practices that help quiet the mental chatter, and master proper alignment techniques that make every pose feel sustainable and safe.

Four weeks of growth

We understand that life can get busy, and commitments may arise. If you miss a week, you can always make it up in the next intake or the parallel course. Alternatively, you can explore the parallel course running concurrently at our sister studio.

Meet your teacher

About Paul Sneddon

Paul attended his first yoga class in 2017 as a way to counteract tight muscles from strength training, a desk job and a Hobbit-shaped body. He was instantly hooked and, like many, he realised the benefits go beyond the physical and found yoga to be the perfect remedy for the busy-ness of modern life.

In 2018 he enrolled in Stretch’s very first yoga teacher training course and began teaching soon after that. His favourite parts of teaching include welcoming new students in to a safe environment as well as seeing regular students return and the sense of community it creates.

Working in corporate Learning and Development as his “regular” job, Paul has always valued teaching, coaching and encouraging others to learn and explore and this comes across in his classes. Students will always be encouraged to safely find what works for them, recognising that all bodies are beautifully unique.

In his classes you will find options for everyone, freedom of movement, mindfulness, invitations to explore, playfulness and the occasional bad joke.

How do I find Stretch Yoga Holland Park?

You can find our Holland Park studio at 50 Seville Rd, Holland Park - just next to Radiance Dance Academy on the corner of Seville Rd and Roscoe St.

Just look out for the beautiful brick building with parallel parks.


What do I need to bring?

For a comfortable and enjoyable experience at Stretch Yoga, we recommend bringing a few essentials:

To stay hydrated throughout your practice we recommend bringing a water bottle. Hydration is key to supporting your body as you move and stretch.

A small towel can be handy for wiping away sweat and providing additional comfort during your session.

While we have a limited number of mats available for hire at $2, we recommend bringing your own yoga mat.

What should I wear?

Remember to choose clothing that allows you to move freely and doesn't restrict your movements. As for footwear, we typically practice barefoot or with grip socks.

When it comes to attire, comfort is key. We recommend wearing breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics that allow for a full range of motion. Opt for flexible leggings or shorts paired with a comfortable tank top or T-shirt.

What if I have an injury or health concern?

We'll start to book everyone in 15 minutes prior to the class starting. Your teacher will be available to chat about anything that's going on and suggest modifications throughout the practice to keep you safe!

What happens if I miss a class?

We want your yoga journey with us to be as smooth as possible! While our workshops and courses are non-refundable, we understand that life can throw curveballs. If you need to switch dates, we can help transfer your booking to a new course for a small $15 admin fee (subject to availability).

The same applies if someone from our waitlist can take your spot. We know schedules can be tricky, so we offer one make-up class per course – you can either join a session in the next course round or use it as credit towards a 1-hour class.

And of course, if we need to cancel, reschedule, or significantly change the location, you'll receive a full refund or account credit. Have questions? We're here to help – just drop us an email!
