As the parent of a teen we're sure we don't need to convince you that yoga is so incredibly beneficial for this age group! From reducing stress and anxiety to increasing strength and flexibility, a regular yoga practice for teens can make all the difference through those formative high school years.
At Stretch, our Brisbane Southside Teens Yoga Courses are run by highly qualified teachers who take a special interest in this age group. Each week there will be a different focus, with a focus on:
- Breathing exercises (pranayama) with explanations on how the impact physiology and emotions
- Poses for stretching and strengthening
- Meditation and mindfulness (and simple tools to cultivate a regular practice)
- Yogic philosophy and principles such as kindess and gratitude
- The importance of discipline
- Tools to take off the mat and into their day to day lives
Our Teens Yoga Terms are completely beginner friendly - you teen doesn't have to have any prior yoga knowledge. With a focus on community building these classes are also a fantastic way for teens to build new friendships. There will be group and partner work, group discussions and sharing, and of course the option for teens to complete multiple terms, or graduate to general classes at our studio.
