Do you spend most of your day at a desk or looking down at a screen?
Have knots or tight spots that keep coming back?
Or maybe you’ve been working on your flexibility but can’t seem to break through a certain point?
Myofascial release is a growing method of physical therapy which reaches deeper than traditional forms of massage. Rather than targeting just the muscles themselves, this form of therapy works to release and soften the fascia, a spiderweb-like connective tissue which surrounds and connects every organ, blood vessel, nerve, bone and muscle of the body.
In this restorative workshop, we’ll be focusing specifically on the fascia that supports the muscles - myofascia (“my-oh-fa-shee-ya”). While admittedly not as relaxing as a traditional massage (a little less “ahh-ing” and a little more “it hurts so good”), we’ll work into those knots and areas of tension that unavoidably arise from our modern lives, and then wind down the session with a few prop-supported restorative poses before settling into a savasana with an option for a delicious temple massage.
Join Paris for an hour and a half as she guides you through the key tricks and techniques of myofascial release using therapy balls, yoga blocks and self-massage to target trigger points. You’ll work from the head all the way down to the toes, and leave not only feeling more relaxed and mobile, but also with a toolbox of techniques (including a printed guide) that you can practice any time at home.
