Our Brisbane Southside Postnatal Pilates | Mums & Bubs Reformer Pilates courses are the perfect way to ease back into movement after birth. We recommend speaking to your healthcare providers and receiving approval to return to structured exercise before commencing (minimum 6 weeks postpartum) and if they do raise any concerns we recommend a longer comprehensive physiotherapy appointment before commencing to ensure that all exercises given are appropriate (common condition may include prolapse, avulsion or a larger than normal diastisis).
Both Nascent Coorparoo and Articulate Physiotherapy are both baby friendly - encourage you to bring bub along to these classes. Both studios are pram friendly and have spaces for feeding and changing bubs (including couches and kitchenette facilities if needed). Our classes are small with a maximum of just 5 mums per class. Signing up for a block is a great way to make new parent friends, while still making sure you get the expert attention supervised by physiotherapists that you need during your rehabilitation post birth.
Pilates has a strong focus on correct alignment which helps to keep you safe while increasing body awareness and strength, improving posture and range of motion as well as increasing your overall fitness and energy levels. In each 8 week block your teacher will focus on:
Pelvic floor rehabilitation - both strength and endurance
Rebuilding abdominal strength (including in cases of diastasis recti)
Improving movement and posture
Increasing overall strength, fitness and endurance post-partum

Cancellations
Whilst we understand that life happens (especially with little ones) unfortunately due to small class sizes we are generally only able to provide one make up in another postnatal intake. Additional missed classes can be credited towards general Pilates classes at Articulate Physiotherapy (not postnatal specific and must be attended without bub) for use within 12 months
