BRAND NEW TO YOGA?
If you're anything like us when we first started you've probably been thinking about trying yoga for a while but haven't because:
a) You think (know) you'll suck at it
b) You're worried that there will be chanting/incense/weird gongs/hippies/a bunch of things that make you feel uncomfortable
c) You tried in once in a gym and didn't like it
d) You suspect it might be super boring or even worse, super hard
e) All of the above
Well, we're here to let you know that at Stretch Yoga we do things a little differently. We're not crazy hippies (most of the time), we don't care if you suck at it and our job is to make you feel comfortable! We offer 5 distinct class styles suitable for all levels and abilities, and most importantly we try and make yoga fun and lighthearted - after all, if you enjoy doing something then you'll probably come back right?
We understand how intimidating it can be to come to a yoga studio for the first time. If you're anything like our founder PJ the first time she went she was so terrible at it she thought they were going to kick her out! She had no idea what anyone was talking about (and thought most of the people in the class were slightly crazy) but walked out feeling amazing - which is how we hope that you'll feel too! We think that's the key when you're a little newer to yoga - just try and ignore how silly and uncoordinated you feel during the class, and just focus on how you feel afterwards (hopefully happy and relaxed!).
When you're brand new there are three class styles which we generally recommend before trying something a little more challenging:
We have a tonne of different options throughout our Brisbane CBD Timetable and Holland Park Timetable so just pick one at a time that suits and come around 5 - 10 minutes early. We'll get you to fill out a New Client form and show you where everything is!
We also offer a Beginners Yoga Course for those who like a little more structure and a LOT more information, as well as a Curvy Yoga Course if you've got curves in all the right places!
We always think that knowledge is power with these things so we've suggested some links below that you might like to have a read through before coming in:
If you're still thinking we're worth a try, most people get started on our 2 Week Intro Pass, which is $39 for 2 weeks of unlimited yoga and pilates. But you can find all of our pricing options on our website here.
If you have any questions or would like to talk to a real person before taking the plunge, either pop us an email to info@stretchyoga.com.au or by using the form below, or give us a holla on 07 3210 6886.
Hopefully we'll get to meet you soon!

When you're brand new there are three class styles which we generally recommend before trying something a little more challenging:
- Our Yin Yoga (Deep Stretch) which is more about totally chilling out and holding really deep stretches (but with lots of props so even the most inflexible person can do it!)
- Our Gentle Yoga - think lovely easeful stretches, breathing and movement
- And, our Hatha Foundations (Simple Stretch). We like to think of this as our 'Goldilocks' class. Not too fast, not too slow, not too hard, not too easy.
