Unified Birth: Active Preparation for Expecting Couples
Our Active Birth Workshops are run by our Prenatal yoga teacher and breastfeeding counsellor Kaitlyn Sandona.
Kaitlyn, a proud mama of her own, will guide you and your birth partner through a practical workshop filled with hands on exercises, discussions and active participation preparing you, and your birthing partner, for birth - exploring how the labouring person might want to move, position and breathe, and how the birth partner can play an active role in encouraging different techniques, employing massage, acupressure and more.
You'll be shown practical ‘tools’ for working with pain in labour, including touch, movement and massage preparing you for birth.
In this small group educational class we'll explore how as a team can work together to use mind-body techniques throughout the labour process.
This 4-hour interactive workshop will include:
Who is welcome to attend?
The birthing person and anyone who you might want to support you in labour
This might be:
What stage of pregnancy should I be in?
Most pregnant people attend this workshop in their third trimester, so that the techniques are fresh in their minds, however please feel free to attend from your second trimester onwards.
We generally don't recommend booking within 3 weeks of your due date in case your baby decides to come a little early (however please let us know if that's the case as we may be able to slot you in at the last minute!).
What are the costs?
Our Active Birth Couples Workshops are $200 per couple. Enrolments are limited to 6 couples per workshop.
This includes a 4-hour face-to-face workshop and a free cotton Robozo wrap
A break for lunch is provided, where we will offer tea, coconut water and/or water. Please bring your own lunch, and any snacks or drinks you would like! We kindly ask that you don't eat in the studio space during break, but we do have a lovely courtyard and nearby parks and cafes.
